Alanine is manufactured by the body and is classified as a non-essential amino acid. alanine is utilized in clinical nutrition as a component for parenteral and enteral nutrition. It plays a major role in transferring nitrogen from tissue sites to the liver. Alanine is also used by the body to draw upon blood sugar as an energy source; this makes it useful for people who are attempting to reduce body fat levels. Alanine is also known to support prostate health.
Applications: Alanine is used as a supplement when the body cannot produce it, usually due to decrease liver function. It is also used in perenteral and enteral nutrition.
