Zinc Gluconate is a zinc salt of gluconic acid that is commonly used in cold lozenges for its antiviral effects. Topically, zinc gluconate has an effect against the inflammatory pathway acnecausing bacteria causes. It can down-regulate the inflammatory cascade caused by the p. acnesbacteria. It functions as a cosmetic biocide and skin conditioning agent.
Applications: Zinc Gluconate is found in facial moisturizers and treatments, anti-aging products, anti-acne treatments, facial cleansers, eye creams, sunscreens, and moisturizers among other products. It is also used in lozenges to reduce the symptoms of the common cold.
