Diluent

Description
Chemical substance typically in the form of a volatile liquid that serves primarily to reduce the concentration of the other ingredients in a formulation or to modify the consistency or other properties. The term is most often used for liquid formulations, with the term filler used for solid or powder formulations. Also referred to as a thinner; or mineral spirits. See closely related: solvent.
